Vegan Pesto Pizza with Cauliflower crust (Gluten Free)

Cauliflower Crust Pesto Pizza (Vegan & Gluten Free)

Gluten free, dairy free and delicious. This vegan pesto pizza is sure to please!


Vegan Pesto
  • handful of cherry tomatoes
  • 3 TBL nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 Lemon juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 oz basil (two small plastic packages)
  • 1 TBL olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • splash of water if needed
Cauliflower Crust
  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 2  cups brown rice flour 
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 TBL nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp italian herbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 5 TBL ground flax seed mixed with 5 TBL water


To make Pesto:
1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth-ish
(what you want it to be more complicated?!)

To make crust:
1. Pulse cauliflower in food processor until it becomes small like rice
2. Steam cauliflower for 10 minutes or so until tender
3. put cauliflower in cheese cloth and squeeze out excess water (wait until cauliflower is cool)
4. Make flax egg by combining ground flax seeds with water and set aside until it becomes gelatinous
5. mix everything together (cauliflower, flax egg, seasonings, flour)
6. spread out on well oiled or lined pan and bake at 400deg for 30 minutes

Put pesto on cooked pizza crust
top with your favorite toppings
add vegan cheese
bake at 400 deg for 20 minutes
