EASY VEGAN FRENCH  TOAST

Easy eggless, dairy free, crispy and delicious french toast. Great for vegans or people with egg allergies. Easy to make vegan french toast recipe with easy to find ingredients.

– 1 cup soy milk (or whatever plant milk you have on hand) – 1 tsp ground flax seeds (or ground chia seeds) – 1 tbsp vanilla – 1 tbsp maple syrup – 2 tsp cinnamon – ¼ cup corn starch – 6-8 slices thickly sliced bread (Texas toast, ciabatta or french) – 2-3 tbsp vegan butter (or oil – for frying)

In a large bowl, mix together the soy milk, vanilla, cinnamon, corn starch, maple syrup and ground flax seeds.

Once everything is mixed well, let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to let the flax seeds thicken up the mixture.

Get some thickly sliced bread and dip it in the mixture for 5-10 seconds on each side, or until well coated. If you let it sit for too long, it may become mushy. For denser bread, you can let it soak a little longer. –

– Heat a frying pan on medium low heat and add the vegan butter or oil. Let the pan heat up for at least five minutes before adding the bread.

Once the pan is heated up, add the bread and let cook on each side for about 3-5 minutes, or until outside is crispy and golden brown.
